Bookshelf Monday :: 35
I love how this little library is decorated. All the little splashes of green throughout the room tie it beautifully together. I especially like the shelves full of magazines at the bottom because my pack rat tendencies are not entirely exclusive to just books. Plus, the chairs look very comfy too. Bookmarking this for my future home someday!

THIS is the reason why it is good for me to be married to my husband because otherwise, there would be piles of books everywhere in our home. I swear there IS some order to my madness though honey! :)

I saw this staircase bookshelf a year ago and the first thing that came into my mind was that I couldn't stand that my books where stored where my feet and subsequently all the dirt and muck that you find on floors would be. I do have to commend the owners on a great use of what is usually wasted space though!

This beautiful library is aboard the Queen Elizabeth cruise liner, The Queen Elizabeth II. It houses over 6,000 books. Isn't it exquisite? I think I would go on a cruise just so I could spend sea days roaming this lovely place. I do have a soft spot for spiral staircases after all.

What an interesting looking chair. I doesn't look very comfortable though, which is very high on my list of reading chairs. It must be cushy and be able to adjust to all my various positions of hanging legs over the edges to tucking both legs in. This chair looks like it'd be painful to do any of that even though it would be interesting to look at. Who else would have fun deciding which book you would be on which level and which slot? Anyone?

This is one of the most unique reading nooks I've ever seen. I think it's very elegant and a great use of closet space - every side is filled with shelves from top to bottom.

I think I'm a little bit obsessed with window seats. I think this obsession started a long, long time ago - probably ever since I learned that they're called, "bay windows." I love how clean the lines look in this room. Very nice indeed.

I often dream of a wintery wonderland this time of year because it doesn't get very cold in Southern California, the land of two seasons: warm or hot. Now don't get me wrong, I am not complaining because I am a SoCal girl to the core and LOVE our mild weather. However, I do wish we could have a day or two of snow. That would be fun. :)
Hope you had a wonderful New Years!

I think you will all agree with me that Christmas just come and goes by way too quickly for my liking. So today's Bookshelf Monday post is still in celebration of the wonderful holidays. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas celebration!

Christmas is right around the corner and I thought it'd be fitting to do a Christmas-y Bookshelf Monday post. :) I hope you are enjoying the 12 Pearls of Christmas posts as much as I am.
Happy holidays everyone!

I've been posting a lot of reading nooks and crannies lately. I thought I'd post this one because I find it amusing. I honestly think my claustrophobic tendencies would kick into high gear if I closed the doors while sitting in it, but since it's hard to find a quick reading place without my toddler running by to bop/yank/pull my book out of my hands... it might actually be worth it. :)

What a wonderful little reading room! I wish I had another shot of the other side to get a full view of the room, but I love the idea of having a little space where one could escape to and just read the day away. Plus, don't you just love the splashes of red?

What an interesting use of a fireplace! I wonder if it's a temporary shelf because it doesn't look like you could take it out. I don't think I could give up a warm fire on winter nights. Great use of space though!

This is actually what my shelves look like (minus the ladder) - books stack on top of books to squeeze as many as I can onto each shelf. (It doesn't look nearly as nice as these do though.)

I don't know what I love more... the piles of books everywhere (because that's what my home would look like without a toddler and hubby who puts my piles away back to the shelves where they supposedly belong), the comfy throw over the couch or the wonderfully organized shelves in the back with all the HARDCOVER books? I would love to own more hardcover books, but if only they were less expensive. Plus they take do technically take up more space on the shelf... :)

What lovely lighting to read with in this reading nook! I think I'd be too distracted and stare out the window the whole time though. :)

My hubby and I live in apartment and thus there is minimal space for me to store all of my books. I've filled up most of the shelves we do have and have started a few piles here and there. While cleaning this past weekend, he cleared out some space on our shelves (aka made double layers of books) so I could put my piles away.
I am a lucky girl to have a man who supports my book addiction.

I saw this on Pinterest and fell in love with it immediately. I do have a strong affinity for any kind of nook, especially a reading one, but I love the color scheme of this room. Plus, wouldn't it be such a sweet place to get all cozy with some blankets, a book and some jazz music? *daydreaming*
